Ellie Celebrates 1 Year with Ashley Kate!
This month, we’re delighted to celebrate Ellie Olive-Pickersgill, Finance Recruitment Consultant, as she marks her one-year anniversary with Ashley Kate. Over the past 12 months, Ellie has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality finance recruitment solutions – supporting candidates in taking the next step in their careers while partnering closely with clients to understand and meet their hiring needs. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and people-focused approach have made her a valued member of our team.
To mark the milestone, we caught up with Ellie to reflect on her first year, the highlights along the way, and what she’s most excited about as she continues her journey with Ashley Kate.
What have you enjoyed most about your first year recruiting within the finance sector?
The most enjoyable part has definitely been working alongside everyone at Ashley Kate. I’ve really valued being part of such a supportive team, while also having the opportunity to learn about a completely new sector for me. Gaining knowledge in finance recruitment has been challenging but really rewarding.
What’s been a standout success or moment for you this year?
A real standout moment was placing a Finance Manager into a role and then seeing that candidate go on to become a client. They trusted me enough to pass over several finance roles for their team, which helped build a really strong relationship. On top of that, heading into January with a record month for perm billings was a massive personal win – woohoo!
How do you approach building trust with finance candidates and clients?
For me, the most important thing is getting a true understanding of their expectations from the start. I always aim to provide an honest and transparent service, making sure communication is clear and consistent throughout the process. Building trust really comes down to being reliable and open.
What skills do you think are most important for success in finance recruitment?
Resilience is definitely key, especially in a competitive market. Alongside that, being a strong communicator and focusing on building long-lasting relationships with both candidates and clients makes a huge difference to long-term success.
What are your goals as you move into your second year at Ashley Kate?
My main goal is to continue building on the progress I’ve made in my first year and push for promotion to senior in my second year.
A huge congratulations to Ellie on her one-year anniversary with us. Her dedication, positive attitude, and commitment to delivering an exceptional experience for both candidates and clients have made a real impact in her first year. We’re incredibly proud of everything Ellie has achieved so far and look forward to seeing her continue to grow, succeed, and make her mark within our team.
