Temp Time - 9 reasons to use temporary support

Is permanent always better than temporary? Not always, the fast rising trend of the temporary workforce shows there is a large increase of hiring a flexible workforce. This might be a solution for your common recruitment woes.

More than 1 in 3 people (36%) in Great Britain have worked as a contractor, freelancer or agency worker at some point in their career.

I support clients across London with roles up to the 40k salary band. I have personally seen an increase of clients hiring on a temporary basis and candidates taking on these roles.

But are temporary workers the solution to your recruitment needs? YES!

Temporary support benefits;

  • Enables your business to adjust more easily and quickly to workload fluctuations.
  • Maintains staffing flexibility.
  • A stop-gap when recruiting permanent roles.
  • Cover sickness or holidays.
  • Bring new contacts and experiences to your HR team.
  • Provides a low-risk cost-effective solution.
  • Taking on temporary talent can provide an opportunity to give someone a chance.
  • Help in uncertain times.
  • ‘Try before you buy’.

Worried about hiring a temp?
Gone are the days where organisations see temporary and permanent workers differently, working on a temporary basis is part of many people’s career paths and 41% are considering working that way in the future.

Temp regulations
It’s important to bear in mind that after temporary workers have spent 12 weeks with the same employer, they’re legally entitled to the same basic employment and working conditions as permanent members of staff in equivalent roles.
