NOW the Legal Bit
There are important differences between temporary agency workers and those who are on fixed-term contracts:
Temporary: your contract is with us and we pay you on an hourly rate, 4 weekly via our payroll, by submitting an authorised timesheet.
You are employed on a ‘Contract for Services’ and legally you are a ‘worker’ not an ‘employee’
You should refer to the terms in the ‘Contract for Services’ provided by us to you.
Contract: your contract is with the hiring company (the client) and you sign a fixed-term contract (FTC) with the hiring company. FTC’s are often used for cover for example maternity cover where 9 months fixed term contract may be required etc. You will usually be paid monthly by the client on a pro rata salary.
You are employed on a ‘contract of employment by the client (hiring company) and you should refer to the terms and conditions of this employment.
