With it being National Candy Month we would like to share a few sweet facts that might blow your mind. Through the generations candy has changed dramatically, to this day some of us still prefer a Rhubarb and Custard, Black Jack or even an Aniseed Ball (a questionable sweet to most). Some prefer savory, some prefer sweet..but all we know for sure is they wont be going anywhere anytime soon.

  1. The Tootsie Roll was the first penny candy to be individually wrapped.

  2. Candy corn was originally called Chicken Feed (of course)

  3. Cotton candy was invented by a dentist (ironic)

  4. The little paper flag on a Hershey's Kiss is called a plume

  5. Snickers and Lolly Pops were both named after family horses

  6. White chocolate is not classed as chocolate because it contains no cocoa solids

  7. In the 1800's chocolate was given as a remedy for those suffering with a broken heart (it works wonders ya'see)
