From Apprentice to HR Recruitment Consultant by Georgina Ure

Recruitment isn’t the path I thought I was originally destined for – however, I am so pleased this is where I am!  As a child, I wanted to be a ballerina, then a pop star and at one stage, a tattoo artist – all creative fields, which is what I love.  AKHR encourages creativity and innovative thinking, so I am pleased that I can utilise my natural skills and expertise and implement this into a professional capacity.

Ashley Kate HR is a company that encourages internal promotion, progression and who has been an advocate of the use of apprentice for many years. I started at Ashley Kate HR as an apprentice, supporting the consultants on the administration around the recruitment process, and in a short space of time, I have moved to a Recruitment Consultant, enabling me to work directly with HR Professionals and assist them in their job search and search for talent. I am still at the beginning stages of my recruitment career, but I feel I have come a long way and accomplished a lot during my time in the business.

Since joining the company there have been a lot of exciting changes which I have been thrilled to be a part of, such as the fact that we were acquired by Nicholas Associates Group and we now have the ability to provide recruitment support from Apprentice to Boardroom, a truly unique selling point.

My journey to becoming a recruitment consultant has been an incredible experience and a successful one too! This couldn’t have been possible without the fantastic support system of my immediate North and Midlands team – Jacqui Wall, Paula Shaw, Lucy Wesson, Emma Dobson, Natasha James, Tiffany Roberts and most recently Kieron Cartledge and the support from the rest of Ashley Kate HR nationwide.
